Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling está experimentando un recambio generacional en su roster con luchadoras más jóvenes destacando en el ring y en las redes sociales. Antes de Summer Princess 2024, próximo gran show de la compañía, Pep S. Caro tuvo la oportunidad de entrevistar a Miyu Yamashita. La popular “Ace of TJPW” respondió varias de las preguntas de Pep. Los temas fueron sobre qué significa TJPW para ella, su excursión a Estados Unidos, su vínculo con España y RCW, el show EVE x TJPW, objetivos, su vida personal y más.

Entrevista con Miyu Yamashita (TJPW): Lo profesional y lo personal (Spanish & English)
Pep: Eres la luchadora que más veces ha ganado el Princess of Princess Championship. Además, eres la luchadora que ostenta el récord del reinado más longevo. ¿Qué significa TJPW para ti? ¿Tienes intenciones de retar por el Campeonato en el segundo semestre del año 2024?
Miyu: TJPW lo es todo para mí.
Estoy interesada en los títulos por parejas. Todavía me persiguen porque cuando fui campeona antes, me decepcionó haberlos perdido pronto, sin tener que recorrer el camino de defensa que había planeado.
Quiero volver a ser campeona en parejas con Maki Itoh.
Pep: Luego de perder el Princess of Princess Championship contra Miu Watanabei, realizaste una gira por Estados Unidos que duró aproximadamente 2 meses. ¿Por qué decidiste realizar esta gira y qué consideras que aprendiste de todos los combates que tuviste?
Miyu: Si hubiera vencido a Miu, también hubiera defendido mi Princess of Princess Championship en Estados Unidos. Eso no sucedió, pero fue una gran experiencia.
He estado en muchos lugares y he peleado con muchos luchadores.
Fue una gran experiencia para mí luchar contra Jordynne Grace, que es un nombre de moda en este momento.
Pep: Hay un Campeonato que no has ganado en TJPW y es el International Princess Championship. Es lo único que necesitas para ser Grand Slam Champion. ¿Tienes intenciones de retar a Yuki Arai por el Campeonato o prefieres enfocarte en el Princess of Princess Championship? ¿Qué clase de combate deberían esperar los fanáticos si ustedes se enfrentan?
Miyu: No estoy desinteresada en el International Princess Championship. Ahora también me gustaría luchar contra Yuki Arai.
Simplemente creo que el momento es importante y ahora no es el momento.
Estaría muy emocionado si llegara ese momento.
Pep: Eres la luchadora de TJPW con mayor experiencia internacional y Europa es un lugar especial para ti. Volverás a competir en Pro Wrestling EVE en Reino Unido, empresa en la que fuiste Campeona por más de un año. ¿Qué expectativas tienes para este show en conjunto entre EVE y TJPW? ¿Qué pueden esperar los fanáticos de este show?
Miyu: Estoy muy feliz porque EVE es un lugar que amo y considero mi segundo hogar.
Creo que EVE y TJPW serán un gran complemento entre sí porque las luchadoras de EVE tendrán una amplia gama de combates emocionantes, así que esperenlo con ansias.
Pep: Tu experiencia internacional te dio la posibilidad de competir en RCW en España, lugar donde iniciaste una rivalidad con Millie McKenzie que posteriormente continuó en TJPW y también conociste a Mercedes Moné en uno de los encuentros más épicos del 2022. ¿Qué significa España para ti y tienes intención de volver al país ya sea para competir o por turismo?
Miyu: España es un lugar que me ha dado muchos encuentros.
¡Por supuesto que me encantaría volver pronto!
Estoy en constante comunicación con RCW y tengo muchas ganas de volver a estar en España.
Pep: Sabemos que te gusta la música y entrenar pero queríamos saber si tienes alguna afición que te guste hacer además de las mencionadas. Cuéntanos cómo es un día típico en la vida de Miyu Yamashita.
Miyu; Me gusta explorar la ciudad estos días. Voy a varios lugares y simplemente camino mirando el paisaje urbano.
Pep: ¿Qué objetivos tienes para el segundo semestre del 2024 y qué planeas hacer para conseguirlos?
Miyu: Yo quiero hacerme más fuerte y más conocida. Para conseguir ambas cosas, quiero ver muchas cosas (nuevas).

Miyu: Gracias porque sea de tu agrado, las barreras de la distancia y el idioma pueden ser difíciles para nosotros, pero creo que podemos superarlas con la conexión de la lucha libre profesional. Somos especiales.

Pep: You are the wrestler who has won the Princess of Princess Championship the most times. Furthermore, you are the wrestler who holds the record for the longest reign. What does TJPW mean to you? Do you have intentions of competing for the Championship in the second half of 2024?
Miyu: TJPW is everything to me.
I am interested in the tag team titles. It still haunts me because when I was champion before, I was disappointed that I lost without having to walk the defense road I had planned.
I want to be tag team champion again with Maki Itoh.
Pep: After losing the Princess of Princess Championship against Miu Watanabe, you went on a tour to the United States that lasted approximately 2 months. Why did you decide to go on this tour and what do you think you learned from all the matches (games) you had?
Miyu: If I had beat Miu, I was going to defend my Princess of Princesses title in the US as well. That didn’t happen, but it was a great experience.
I have been to many places and fought many wrestlers.
It was a great experience for me to fight Jordynne Grace, who is a hot name right now.
Pep: There is one Championship in TJPW that you have not won yet and it is the International Princess Championship. It’s the only thing you need to be a Grand Slam Champion. Do you intend to wrestle Yuki Arai for the Championship or would you rather focus on the Princess of Princess Championship? What kind of match should fans expect if you two face each other?
Miyu: I am not uninterested in the International Princess Championship. I would like to fight Yuki Arai now, too.
I just think the timing is important, and now is not the time.
I would be very excited if that time comes.
Pep: You are the TJPW wrestler with the most international experience and Europe is a special place for you. You will compete again in Pro Wrestling EVE in the United Kingdom, a company in which you were Champion for more than a year. What expectations do you have for this joint show between EVE and TJPW? What can fans expect from this show?
Miyu: I am very happy because EVE is a place I love and consider my second home.
I think EVE and TJPW will be a great match because EVE’s wrestlers will have a wide range of exciting matches, so look forward to that.
Pep: Your international experience gave you the opportunity to compete in RCW in Barcelona, Spain, where you started a rivalry with Millie McKenzie that later continued in TJPW and you also met Mercedes Moné in one of the most epic encounters of 2022. What does Spain mean to you and do you intend to return to the country either to compete or for tourism?
Miyu: Spain is a place that has given me many encounters.
Of course I would love to return anytime soon!
I am in constant communication with RCW and I am looking forward to being in Spain again.
Pep: We know that you like music and training but we wanted to know if you have any hobbies that you like to do in addition to those mentioned. Please tell us what a typical day in the life of Miyu Yamashita is like.
Miyu; I like to explore the city these days. I go to various places and just walk around looking at the cityscape.
Pep: What goals do you have for the second half of 2024 and what do you plan to do to achieve them?
Miyu: I want to make myself broader and stronger.
For that purpose, I want to see many things.
Pep: To finish this interview, we wanted to ask you to send a greeting or message to your fans in Latin America and Spain, countries where Spanish is spoken, who follow your work and who, despite the distance and the language barrier, are happy for you and they want to see you continue growing as a wrestler and as a person.
Miyu: Thank you for liking me, distance and language barriers may be hard for us, but I believe we can overcome them with the connection of pro wrestling. We are special.
