Pro Wrestling NOAH realizará DESTINATION 2024, su siguiente show PPV, el 13 de julio. La cartelera incluye varios combates por Campeonatos y otros especiales para la compañía. Jake Lee, luchador japonés y líder de Good Looking Guys (GLG) de NOAH, participará del último combate de la facción que lidera antes de que sea disuelta.
Antes de que se realice este importante evento en Japón, Pep S. Caro tuvo la oportunidad de entrevistar a Jake. “The Good Looking Emperor” respondió varias de las preguntas de Pep. Los temas fueron su vínculo con NOAH, la facción GLG, la rivalidad con Tetsuya Naito y alianza con Bullet Club War Dogs, debut en el G1 Climax de NJPW, objetivos, su vida personal y más.

Entrevista con Jake Lee (NOAH): Lo profesional y lo personal (Spanish & English)
Pep: En agosto de 2024 celebrarás tu 13vo aniversario como luchador profesional. Sin embargo, estuviste inactivo por más de 4 años. ¿Por qué decidiste volver a la lucha libre profesional en 2015? ¿Consideras que tu debut efectivamente fue en 2011 o en 2015 cuando asumiste el nombre de Jake Lee?
Jake: Porque no quería morir con arrepentimientos. Creo que empezó oficialmente en 2015, porque ahora soy “Jake Lee”.
Pep: En 2023 sorprendiste al mundo de la lucha libre al dejar AJPW para unirte a NOAH. Además, te convertiste en GHC Heavyweight Champion luego de vencer a Kaito Kiyomiya en tus primeros meses en la compañía. ¿Cuáles consideras tus momentos favoritos en NOAH? ¿A quién consideras tu más grande rival en NOAH?
Jake: Todos son rivales, todos tienen potencial y los luchadores de NOAH siempre están peleando para encontrar y mostrar ese potencial.
Pep: Antes de llegar a NOAH, ya eras un luchador exitoso. Ganaste 2 veces el Triple Crown Championship de AJPW, otro de los Campeonatos Mundiales de mayor prestigio en la lucha libre profesional. ¿Qué significó esta etapa de tu carrera para ti? ¿A qué consideras que se debe tu éxito en la lucha libre?
Jake: Personalmente no creo haberlo logrado todavía, por eso sigo luchando.
Pep: Este año, Good Looking Guys (GLG) tuvo una sociedad temporal con Bullet Club War Dogs en una rivalidad primero con Los Ingobernables de Japón y luego con ALL REBELLION. Incluso tuviste un combate con Tetsuya Naito en ALL TOGETHER. ¿Por qué decidiste aceptar la proposición de David Finlay y colaborar con los War Dogs? ¿Cuáles fueron tus sensaciones luego de tener el combate con Naito? ¿Cuáles son tus pensamientos de Naito como competidor?
Jake: Tetsuya Naito es, según todos los indicios, el mejor atleta del mundo de la lucha libre japonesa. Sin embargo, sentí que él es un ser humano más y no hay gran diferencia entre nosotros dos. Y elegí colaborar con War Dogs para cerrar esa brecha y crecer más.
Pep: En NOAH Grand Ship 2024 in Yokohama, sorprendiste nuevamente al mundo de la lucha libre al anunciar la próxima disolución de GLG, una de las facciones más populares no solo en Japón ¿A qué se debe esta decisión? Vimos que Jack Morris no estuvo contento con esta decisión, ¿cómo tomó el resto del grupo tu decisión?
Jake: Es natural estar insatisfecho y, para ser honesto, estoy seguro de que los demás miembros tampoco se sienten bien con eso. Estoy seguro de que los demás miembros tampoco están contentos, porque esta decisión fue tomada a mi entera discreción y no consulté con los demás miembros.
Pep: En NOAH DESTINATION 2024, tendremos un combate especial entre los miembros de GLG a manera de despedida de la facción. ¿Qué expectativas tienes para ese combate? ¿Cómo quieres que los fanáticos recuerden a GLG?
Jake: Siempre he dicho que yo le proporcionaría a NOAH una muestra exitosa. Siempre he dicho que le daría a NOAH una muestra de éxito, y creo que GLG se ha convertido en uno de esos grupos de éxito. Es por eso que estoy deseando ver cómo avanzará cada miembro y qué podría pasar en este combate. Espero que todos lo vean con tales expectativas.
Pep: Este año participarás en el NJPW G1 Climax 34. Debutarás en el torneo en el Block A y hay varios oponentes que enfrentarás por primera vez. Kiyomiya participó el año pasado pero no logró clasificar a las instancias finales. ¿Qué expectativas tienes para tu debut en el torneo? De todos los oponentes del Block A, ¿a quién tienes más ganas de enfrentar? ¿Contra quién te gustaría enfrentarte en una eventual final?
Jake: La mayoría de los luchadores están peleando por primera vez en el torneo y tendremos combates por primera vez entre nosotros, así que todo es muy emocionante. Sin embargo, este G1 se anunció el día después de que perdí ante Tetsuya Naito y, para ser honesto, tengo sentimientos encontrados al respecto. Desde el fondo de mi corazón quiero ganar contra Tetsuya Naito aquí.
Pep: Este año, NOAH vuelve a realizar giras fuera de Japón y ya tienen fechas anunciadas para septiembre en Reino Unido y octubre en Alemania. En el pasado, NOAH ha participado de eventos en Perú, Chile, Brasil y México. ¿Qué expectativas tienes para estas gira? ¿Qué les espera a los fanáticos que asistirán? ¿Hay algún otro país o continente que te gustaría visitar?
Jake: No tengo comentarios al respecto.
Pep: Queremos conocer un poco más sobre Jake Lee, la persona. ¿Podrías contarnos tus hobbies? ¿Podrías contarnos cómo es un día habitual en la vida de Jake Lee?
Jake: El Jiu-Jitsu brasileño es mi principal pasatiempo, pero también me gusta el anime y el manga, y básicamente los reviso cuando tengo tiempo.
Pep: Ahora que NOAH y WWE han abierto la puerta para colaborar entre sí y tendremos un combate entre Naomichi Marufuji y AJ Styles en DESTINATION 2024. ¿Hay algún luchador de WWE o de otra empresa internacional que aún no has enfrentado qué te gustaría enfrentar y por qué sería contra él? ¿Quieres que sea en un ring de NOAH o te gustaría que sea en el ring de la compañía a la que pertenece ese luchador?
Jake: Quiero competir con muchos luchadores diferentes y este sentimiento nunca ha cambiado para mí. Me gustaría luchar en cualquier ring porque me gustaría ver qué tipo de escenario se extiende compitiendo contra muchos luchadores en su propio entorno.
Pep: ¿Tienes algún mensaje para tus fanáticos de Latinoamérica y de España, países en los que se habla español, que siguen tu trabajo y te apoyan, a pesar de la distancia y de la barrera del idioma?
Jake: Seguiré luchando mientras pueda, y si tengo la oportunidad, espero competir no sólo en Japón sino también en el extranjero. Si eso sucede… espero verte en el lugar (recinto).

Pep: In August 2024 you will celebrate your 13th anniversary as a professional wrestler. However, you were inactive for almost 4 years. Why did you decide to return to professional wrestling in 2015? Do you consider that your debut was in 2011 or in 2015 when you assumed the name Jake Lee?
Jake: Because I didn’t want to die with any regrets. I think it officially started in 2015, because I am now “Jake Lee”.
Pep: In 2023 you surprised the wrestling world by leaving AJPW to join NOAH. Additionally, you became GHC Heavyweight Champion after beating Kaito Kiyomiya in your first months in the company. What do you consider your favorite moments in NOAH? Who do you consider your biggest rival in NOAH?
Jake: Everyone is a rival, everyone has potential, and NOAH’s wrestlers are always fighting to find and to show that potential.
Pep: Before coming to NOAH, you were already a successful wrestler. You won the AJPW Triple Crown Championship twice, another of the most prestigious World Championships in professional wrestling. What did this stage of your career mean to you? What do you think is the reason for your success in wrestling?
Jake: I don’t personally think I have succeeded yet, so that’s why I continue fighting.
Pep: This year, Good Looking Guys (GLG) had a temporary partnership with Bullet Club War Dogs in a rivalry first with Los Ingobernables de Japon and then with ALL REBELLION. You even had a match with Tetsuya Naito in ALL TOGETHER. Why did you decide to accept David Finlay’s proposal and collaborate with the War Dogs? What were your feelings after having the match with Naito? What are your thoughts on Naito as a competitor?
Jake: Tetsuya Naito is, by all accounts, the top athlete in the Japanese wrestling world. However, I felt that he is just another human being and there is no big difference between the two of us. And I chose to collaborate with the War Dogs in order to close that gap and grow more myself.
Pep: At NOAH Grand Ship 2024 in Yokohama, you surprised the wrestling world again by announcing the upcoming dissolution of GLG, one of the most popular factions not only in Japan. What is the reason for this decision? We saw that Jack Morris was not happy with this announcement, how did the rest of the group take your decision?
Jake: It is natural to be dissatisfied, and to be honest, I am sure the other members do not feel good about it either. I am sure the other members are not happy either, because this decision was made at my sole discretion and I did not consult with the other members.
Pep: In NOAH DESTINATION 2024, we will have a special match between the members of GLG as a farewell to the faction. What expectations do you have for that match? How do you want fans to remember GLG?
Jake: I have always said that I would provide NOAH with a successful sample. I have always said that I would provide NOAH with a sample of success, and I believe that GLG has become such a group. That’s why I am looking forward to seeing how each member will move forward, and what might happen in this match. I hope you will watch with such expectations.
Pep: This year you will participate in the NJPW G1 Climax 34. You will debut in the tournament in Block A and there are several opponents that you will face for the first time. Kiyomiya participated last year but failed to qualify for the finals. What expectations do you have for your debut in the tournament? Of all the Block A opponents, who are you most looking forward to facing? Who would you like to face in a possible final?
Jake: Most of the wrestlers are fighting for the first time in the tournament and we will have first time matches against each others, so everything is very exciting. However, this G1 was announced the day after I lost to Tetsuya Naito, and to be honest, I have mixed feelings about it. From the bottom of my heart, I want to win against Tetsuya Naito here.
Pep: This year, NOAH is touring outside of Japan again and they already have dates announced for September in the United Kingdom and October in Germany. In the past, NOAH has participated in events in Peru, Chile, Brazil and Mexico. What expectations do you have for these tours? Is there any other country or continent you would like to visit?
Jake: I have no comments on this topic.
Pep: We want to know a little more about Jake Lee, the person. Could you tell us your hobbies? Could you tell us what a typical day in the life of Jake Lee is like?
Jake: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is my main hobby, but I also like anime and manga, and basically check them out when I have time.
Pep: Now that NOAH and WWE have opened the door to collaborate with each other and we will have a match between Naomichi Marufuji and AJ Styles at DESTINATION 2024. Is there a wrestler from WWE or another international company that you haven’t faced yet that you would like to face and why would it be him? Do you want it to be in a NOAH ring or would you like it to be in the ring of the company to which that wrestler belongs?
Jake: I want to compete with many different wrestlers, and this feeling has never changed for me. I would like to wrestle in any ring because I would like to see what kind of scenery spreads out ahead by competing against many wrestlers in their own environment.
Pep: Do you have a message for your fans in Latin America and Spain, countries where Spanish is spoken, who follow your work and support you, despite the distance and the language barrier?
Jake: I will continue wrestling as long as I can, and if I have the chance, I hope to compete not only in Japan but also overseas. If that happens… I hope to see you at the venue.
