Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling está experimentando un recambio generacional en su roster con luchadoras más jóvenes destacando en el ring y en las redes sociales. Una de ellas es HIMAWARI, quien en su primer año como luchadora profesional llegó a la final del TJPW Next Generation Tournament ’23 convirtiéndose en una de las más destacadas de todas las que debutaron en la compañía en 2023.
Antes de TJPW Summer Sun Princess ’24, próximo gran show de la compañía, Pep S. Caro tuvo la oportunidad de entrevistar a HIMAWARI, quien respondió varias de las preguntas de Pep. Los temas fueron sobre su estilo de lucha libre y sus referentes, su primer combate titular, su próximo debut en el extranjero en EVE x TJPW, objetivos, oponente soñado, su vida personal y mucho más.
Nos gustaría destacar que esta es la primera entrevista que HIMAWARI realiza para cualquier medio informativo internacional. Además, de ser la primera vez que participa de una entrevista para un medio informativo en español y sin haber competido en un país en el que se hable ese idioma todavía.

Entrevista con HIMAWARI (TJPW): Lo profesional y lo personal (Spanish & English)
Pep: En tu primer año de carrera como luchadora profesional, solo tuviste 2 combates en AWG. ¿Cómo describirías el comienzo de tu carrera? ¿Podrías decirnos por qué decidiste convertirte en luchadora profesional?
HIMAWARI: Aparecí dos veces en AWG como actriz en actuaciones estilo combate de lucha libre. Después de experimentar actuaciones de lucha libre como actriz y sentirme atraída por el encanto de la lucha libre, decidí entrar oficialmente al ring como luchadora profesional.
Mi carrera como luchadora profesional comenzó en TJPW el 4 de enero de 2023 en el Korakuen Hall.
Al principio me preocupaba a menudo el hecho de que la lucha libre es una forma de entretenimiento que muestra mi propia vida, a diferencia de mi carrera como actor que mostraba la vida de otra persona en el escenario. Sin embargo, pude tener un gran comienzo rodeado de personas mayores maravillosas y abrumadoras y también de colegas cercanos con quienes pude entablar una competencia amistosa.
Pep: ¿Cómo describirías tu estilo de lucha? ¿Hay algún luchador que tomaste como referencia?
HIMAWARI: ¡Soy una luchadora de poder cómico!
Aunque soy de baja estatura, uso la estabilidad de mis piernas y espalda para enfrentarme a cualquier oponente grande sin miedo. ¡También intento usar mi alegría natural y mi cabello largo para hacer que mis combates sean divertidos y agradables!
El luchador que más respeto y que me inspiró a convertirme en luchador profesional es Kazuki Hirata.
Pep: En tu primer año en TJPW, luchaste en la final del Torneo TJPW Next Generation ’23, contra Wakana Uehara. También te volviste muy popular en las redes sociales. ¿Qué objetivos tienes para este segundo año?
HIMAWARI: En mi primer año con TJPW, me invitaron al Torneo TJPW Next Generation ’23 con otros 6 compañeras, ¡y el combate final fue elegido como el mejor combate del torneo!
¡En el segundo año, espero ganar más combates que conmuevan los corazones de mis fans y retribuyan a todos los que me han apoyado!
Pep: En TJPW Yes! Wonderland 2024, competiste por los Princess Tag Team Championships con Wakana Uehara. Desafortunadamente, perdieron contra las Campeonas Daisy Monkey. ¿Cómo describirías ese combate? ¿Tienes la intención de competir por esos campeonatos nuevamente o tienes un campeonato individual en mente?
HIMAWARI: Mi primera pelea por el título, que desafié luego de un año y cuatro meses después de mi debut, terminó con un resultado decepcionante, pero aprendí mucho y gané mucha experiencia. Intenté apretar mi cuerpo para poder manejar la velocidad de Daisy Monkey, pero estaba a merced del trabajo en equipo de las dos y experimenté la dificultad de conseguir de los Campeonatos en Parejas.
Si existe la posibilidad de competir por los cinturones, ya sea en parejas o individuales, aprovecharé la oportunidad con avidez, ya sea en Japón o en el extranjero.
Pep: Aún no has luchado en el extranjero, pero te han anunciado para el show conjunto EVE x TJPW en el Reino Unido. ¿Cuáles son tus expectativas para este espectáculo? ¿Tienes algún interés en competir en otros países europeos como España donde Miyu Yamashita y Maki Itoh han luchado antes?
HIMAWARI: ¡Estoy nerviosa porque esta será mi primera gira por el extranjero! ¡Pero estoy igualmente emocionada! ¡Me gustaría que muchos fans en Inglaterra me llamen, griten HIMAWARI y me gustaría responderles!
¡Quiero asegurarme de que, sin importar cuál sea el enfrentamiento, pueda hacerlo divertido!
¡También quiero luchar en muchos países diferentes como ellos!
Pep: Sabemos que te gusta la música y entrenar pero queríamos saber si tienes alguna afición que te guste hacer además de las mencionadas. Cuéntenos cómo es un día típico en la vida de HIMAWARI.
HIMAWARI: ¡Me gusta ver musicales y obras de teatro, pasar el día dibujando y practicar hacerme las uñas y arreglos de cabello!
¡Sobre todo, me gusta tomar una siesta larga! Disfruto pasar tiempo relajándome y horneando dulces, que es mi tiempo de sanación <3
Pep: Si pudieras traer a cualquier luchador del mundo para competir contra ti en un combate en un ring de TJPW, ¿a quién elegirías y qué estipulación (reglas) elegirías? ¿Por qué él o ella? ¿Y por qué esta estipulación (reglas)?
HIMAWARI: Me gustaría hacer equipo con Mr. Iguana de AAA, Kazuki Hirata y Hyper Misao, y tener un combate sin contacto y caída en cualquier lugar con el Imperio de las Shotas de AAA. ¡Es un combate de ensueño con mis personas favoritas y mis reglas favoritas!
También quiero hacer una versión de combate a muerte de cabello en cadena con Bianca Belair de la WWE. Es un combate especial donde peleamos con su cola de caballo y los extremos de mis colas gemelas atados. Es un combate que podemos hacer porque tenemos el pelo largo. ¡Sería un combate que sólo nosotros podemos hacer!
Pep: Para finalizar esta entrevista queríamos pedirte que envíes un mensaje a tus fans de Latinoamérica y España, países donde se habla español, que siguen tu trabajo y que, a pesar de la distancia y la barrera del idioma, están contentos por ti y quieren verte seguir creciendo como luchadora y como persona.

Pep: In your first year of career as a professional wrestler, you had only 2 matches (games) in AWG. How would you describe the beginning of your career and could you please tell us why you decided to become a pro wrestler?
HIMAWARI: I appeared twice in AWG as an actress in match-style performances. After experiencing entertainment wrestling performances as an actress and being attracted to the appeal of wrestling, I decided to officially enter the ring as a professional wrestler.
My career as a pro wrestler began in TJPW on January 4, 2023 at Korakuen Hall.
I was often troubled at first by the fact that wrestling is a form of entertainment that shows my own life, as opposed to my career as an actor who showed the life of another person on stage. However, I was able to get off to a great start surrounded by wonderful and overwhelming seniors and close colleagues with whom I could engage in friendly competition!
Pep: How would you describe your wrestling style? Are there any wrestlers you took as reference?
HIMAWARI: I am a comical power fighter!
Although I am small in stature, I use the stability of my legs and back to clash with any large opponent without fear! I also aim to use my natural cheerfulness and long hair to make my fights funny and enjoyable!
The wrestler I respect the most and who inspired me to become a professional wrestler is Kazuki Hirata.
Pep: In your first year in TJPW, you wrestle in the Final of the TJPW Next Generation Tournament ’23, against Wakana Uehara. You also got very popular on SNS. What goals do you have for this second year?
HIMAWARI: In my first year with TJPW, I was invited to the TJPW Next Generation Tournament ’23 with 6 other peers, and the final match was chosen as the best bout of the tournament!
In the second year, I hope to win more matches that will move the hearts of my fans and give back to everyone who has supported me!
Pep: In TJPW YES! Wonderland 2024, you competed for the Princess Tag Team Championships with Wakana Uehara. Unfortunately, you lost to Daisy Monkey. How would you describe that match (game)? Do you intend to challenge for those Championships again or do you have a singles Championship in mind?
HIMAWARI: My first title match, which I challenged after one year and four months of my debut, ended with a disappointing result, but I learned a lot and gained a lot of experience. I tried to squeeze my body to be able to handle the speed of Daisy Monkey, but I was at the mercy of the teamwork of the two, and I experienced the difficulty of the tag team championship.
If there is a chance to challenge for the belts, whether it be tag team or singles, I will greedily take the opportunity, whether in Japan or overseas!
Pep: You haven’t wrestle abroad yet but you have been announced for the EVE x TJPW joint show in the United Kingdom. What are your expectations for this show? Do you have any interest in competing in other European countries like Spain where Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh have wrestled before?
HIMAWARI: I am nervous because this will be my first overseas tour! But I am equally excited! I would like to have many fans in England call my name HIMAWARI and I would like to respond to them!
I want to make sure that no matter what the matchup is, I want to make it enjoyable!
I also want to wrestle in many different countries like them!
Pep: We know that you like music and training but we wanted to know if you have any hobbies that you like to do in addition to those mentioned. Please tell us what a typical day in the life of HIMAWARI is like.
HIMAWARI: I like to watch musicals and plays, spend the day drawing, and practice self-nailing and hair arranging!
Above all, I like to take a long nap! I enjoy spending time relaxing and baking sweets, which is my healing time <3
Pep: If you could bring any wrestler in the world to compete against you in a match (game) in a TJPW ring, who would you choose and what stipulation (rules) would you choose? Why him or her? And why this stipulation (rules)?
HIMAWARI: I would like to team up with Mr. Iguana of AAA, Kazuki Hirata and Hyper Misao, and have a no touch & anywhere fall match with el imperio de las shotas of AAA. It’s a dream match with my favorite people and my favorite rules!
I also want to do a chain death match hair version with Bianca Belair from WWE. It’s a special match where we fight with her ponytail and the ends of my twin tails tied together. It is a match that we can do because we have long hair. It would be a match that only we can do!
Pep: To finish this interview, we wanted to ask you to send a message to your fans in Latin America and Spain, countries where Spanish is spoken, who follow your work and who, despite the distance and the language barrier, are happy for you and they want to see you continue growing as a wrestler and as a person.
