Pro Wrestling NOAH realizará DESTINATION 2024, su siguiente show PPV, el 13 de julio. La cartelera incluye varios combates por Campeonatos, uno de ellos por el GHC Heavyweight Championship. Kaito Kiyomiya, luchador japonés, Ace de NOAH y actual Campeón de la división Heavyweight de la compañía, defenderá el Campeonato ante YOICHI en el evento estelar.
Antes de que se realice este importante evento en Japón, Pep S. Caro tuvo la oportunidad de entrevistar a Kaito. “Galaxy View” respondió varias de las preguntas de Pep. Los temas fueron su vínculo con NOAH, la facción ALL REBELLION, las rivalidades con Kazuchika Okada, Gabe Kidd y actualmente con YOICHI, próxima gira en Europa, objetivos, su vida personal y más.
Queremos destacar que esta fue la primera entrevista de Kaito Kiyomiya para un medio informativo en español y sin haber luchado en algún país en el que se hable dicho idioma.

Entrevista con Kaito Kiyomiya (NOAH): Lo profesional y lo personal
Pep: En diciembre de 2024 celebrarás tu noveno aniversario como luchador profesional, ¿cuáles consideras tus momentos favoritos en NOAH? ¿A qué consideras que se debe tu éxito en la lucha libre?
Kaito: Mi momento favorito fue cuando tuve el combate por el Campeonato GHC (Heavyweight).
El momento en que la emoción de los luchadores y los fanáticos convergen en el ring al mismo tiempo es emocionante para mí. Mi deseo de difundir NOAH es la razón por la que sigo siendo un luchador profesional. Quiero hacer de NOAH una organización famosa en el mundo.
Pep: Eres el GHC Heavyweight Champion más joven de la historia y eres de los pocos que han ganado el título al menos 3 veces. Muchos te consideran actualmente el Ace de NOAH. ¿Qué significan NOAH y el GHC Heavyweight Championship para ti? ¿Qué podemos esperar de este nuevo reinado?
Kaito: Para mí, NOAH es el mejor entretenimiento del mundo y un lugar donde se acumula el poder de la vida. El título GHC Heavyweight es una prueba de que he luchado por mi vida y es mi tesoro.
Al convertirme en el nuevo campeón y ganar el título de GHC (después de derrotar a El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr.), continuaré aumentando el entusiasmo de la organización y la convertiré en la organización principal en el mundo de la lucha libre profesional.
Pep: En NOAH Grand Ship 2024 in Yokohama, venciste a Gabe Kidd para retener el GHC Heavyweight Championship y finalizar una rivalidad muy violenta que inició el año pasado durant el G1 Climax 33 de NJPW. ¿Cuáles fueron tus sensaciones luego de este combate con Kidd? ¿Qué aprendiste de esta rivalidad que amenazó con demoler los cimientos de NOAH?
Kaito: No podía dejar que Gabe Kidd, quien ha manchado el cinturón, se convirtiera en el campeón de NOAH. A partir de ahora, decidí realzar aún más el valor del cinturón GHC Heavyweight. Creo que mi enojo por no perdonar a Gabe Kidd resonó en los fanáticos y me hizo sentir como si estuviera luchando junto a ellos. Siento que al exponer mis sentimientos puedo crear más calidez en el grupo.
Pep: Lamentablemente, no todo fue celebración en Yokohama. Inmediatamente después, YOICHI volvió de su excursión en Progress Wrestling, lugar donde ganó el Progress Atlas Championship, y no solo te retó a un combate titular sino que también te atacó. Ese combate se realizará en el Main Event de NOAH DESTINATION 2024. ¿Qué expectativas tienes para ese combate? ¿Cuáles son tus pensamientos sobre YOICHI como competidor?
Kaito: Mostraré la nueva era de NOAH en la próxima defensa el 13 de julio en el Nippon Budokan. Siento que el futuro está en el combate por el (Campeonato) GHC entre los dos jovenes. Creo que es una señal de confianza que (YOICHI) haya hecho un ataque sorpresa en ese momento y haya anunciado su desafío. Creo que (YOICHI) experimentó muchas dificultades y problemas en el extranjero y regresó a casa habiendo crecido, pero (YOICHI) perderá esa confianza en la lucha por el título del Nippon Budokan.
Pep: Ahora perteneces a una nueva facción llamada ALL REBELLION junto a Kenoh, Alejandro y Cristobal. ¿Cuáles son sus objetivos para lo que resta del año? ¿Qué pueden esperar los fanáticos de ustedes como unidad?
Kaito: Como luchador individual, mi objetivo es crear un nuevo tipo de lucha libre, eliminando los estereotipos de cómo debería ser un combate de NOAH. Como unidad, todos queremos convertirnos en campeones (en NOAH).
Pep: Durante UJPW All Together participaste en un combate denominado por los fanáticos como “Future of Japan”, haciendo equipo con Shota Umino y Yuki Ueno para enfrentar a Konosuke Takeshita, Yuya Uemura y Shun Skywalker. Takeshita, luchador de AEW y de DDT, mencionó que quiere enfrentarse individualmente a todos los que participaron en ese combate y superarlos. ¿Tienes algún interés de enfrentarte a Takeshita? De ser así, ¿qué clase de combate crees que tendrían?
Kaito: Sí estoy interesado, pero ahora mismo me estoy concentrando en el combate de GHC contra YOICHI en el Nippon Budokan.
Pep: Dentro de poco se anunciarán los participantes del N-1 Victory 2024. Este año podrías volver al torneo después de decidir no participar el año pasado y podrías entrar al torneo como el GHC Heavyweight Champion por primera vez. ¿Qué expectativas tienes para la nueva edición del torneo? ¿Contra quienes te gustaría enfrentarte aquí?
Kaito: La división Heavyweight se ha vuelto muy fuerte y creo que N-1 Victory 2024 será el mejor torneo de Japón. Pero por ahora me estoy concentrando en el próximo evento en el Nippon Budokan contra YOICHI.
Pep: Este año, NOAH vuelve a realizar giras fuera de Japón y ya tienen fechas anunciadas para septiembre en Reino Unido y octubre en Alemania. En el pasado, NOAH ha participado de eventos en Perú, Chile, Brasil y México. ¿Qué expectativas tienes para estas gira? ¿Qué les espera a los fanáticos que asistirán? ¿Hay algún otro país o continente que te gustaría visitar?
Kaito: Creo que podré ampliar mis horizontes compitiendo contra luchadores de todo el mundo y les mostraré a los fanáticos de todo el mundo que participarán en el evento el mejor lugar posible para entusiasmarse con Kaito Kiyomiya y NOAH. Nunca he estado en México, entonces me gustaría competir allí.
Pep: Queremos conocer un poco más sobre Kaito Kiyomiya, la persona. ¿Podrías contarnos tus hobbies? ¿Podrías contarnos cómo es un día habitual en la vida de Kaito Kiyomiya?
Kaito: Mi hobby son los cigarros. Me gusta el espacio relajante y el ambiente tranquilo del restaurante.
Me despierto por la mañana y reviso las noticias de lucha libre. Veo combates. Entreno desde las 11:00 hasta antes de la noche. Por la noche veo películas, imagino combates y realizo mis pasatiempos.
Pep: El año pasado te enfrentaste a Kazuchika Okada, luchador de AEW que en ese entonces estaba en NJPW durante una rivalidad que también se desarrolló en NOAH. Los asuntos entre ustedes parecen estar inconclusos. ¿Te gustaría tener una revancha contra él si se presenta la oportunidad? ¿Consideras que aprendiste algo en particular durante esta rivalidad?
Kaito: Por supuesto que quiero volver a luchar (con Okada). Y definitivamente lo alcanzaré. También sentí profundamente la diferencia de poder en el ring. Desde sus comentarios hasta su comportamiento, sentí que siempre está pensando en el mundo de la lucha libre profesional.
Pep: Ahora que NOAH y WWE han abierto la puerta para colaborar entre sí y tendremos un combate entre Naomichi Marufuji y AJ Styles en DESTINATION 2024. ¿Hay algún luchador de WWE o de otra empresa internacional que aún no has enfrentado qué te gustaría enfrentar y por qué sería él?
Kaito: Hay algunos luchadores contra los que me gustaría competir en organizaciones extranjeras. Por ahora, es importante para nosotros crear una revolución en NOAH como ALL REBELLION, ¡y nos aseguraremos de que nuestro entusiasmo llegue al extranjero!
Pep: ¿Tienes algún mensaje para tus fanáticos de Latinoamérica y de España, países en los que se habla español, que siguen tu trabajo y te apoyan, a pesar de la distancia y de la barrera del idioma?
Kaito: Gracias por esperar siempre con ansias mis combates. ¡Continuaré defendiendo el cinturón GHC Heavyweight, aumentaré su valor y mostraré combates que enorgullecerán a los fanáticos de que soy el mejor del mundo! ¡Haré NOAH aún más grande para que podamos celebrar combates en España! Cuando lo hagamos, ¡siente el calor de NOAH en los shows en vivo!

Pep: In December 2024 you will celebrate your ninth anniversary as a professional wrestler, what do you consider your favorite moments in NOAH? What do you think is the reason for your success and your motivation to stay active in wrestling?
Kaito: My favorite moment was when I had the GHC (Heavyweight) Championship match.
The moment when the excitement of the wrestlers and fans all converge on the ring at once is exciting for me. My desire to spread NOAH is the reason why I continue to be a professional wrestler. I want to make NOAH a famous organization in the world.
Pep: You are the youngest GHC Heavyweight Champion in history and you are one of the few to have won the title at least 3 times. Many currently consider you the Ace of NOAH. What does NOAH and the GHC Heavyweight Championship mean to you? What do you expect from this new reign?
Kaito: For me, NOAH is the best entertainment in the world and a place where the power of life is gathered. The GHC Heavyweight title is proof that I have fought for my life, and it is my treasure.
By becoming the new champion and winning the GHC title (after defeating El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr.), I will continue to raise the excitement of the organization and make it the top organization in the world of professional wrestling.
Pep: At NOAH Grand Ship 2024 in Yokohama, you defeated Gabe Kidd to retain the GHC Heavyweight Championship and end a very violent rivalry that began last year during NJPW’s G1 Climax 33. What were your feelings after this match with Kidd? What did you learn from this rivalry that threatened to demolish the foundations of NOAH?
Kaito: I couldn’t let Gabe Kidd, who has tarnished the belt, become the NOAH champion. From now on, I decided to further enhance the value of the GHC Heavyweight belt. I believe that my anger at not forgiving Gabe Kidd resonated with the fans and made me feel like I was fighting alongside them. I feel that by exposing my feelings, I can create more heat in the group.
Pep: Unfortunately, not everything was celebration in Yokohama. Immediately afterwards, YOICHI returned from his excursion at Progress Wrestling, where he won the Progress Atlas Championship, and not only challenged you to a title match but also attacked you. That match will take place in the Main Event of NOAH DESTINATION 2024. What expectations do you have for that match? What are your thoughts on YOICHI as a competitor?
Kaito: I will show the new era of NOAH in the next defense on July 13th at the Nippon Budokan. I feel the future is in the GHC match between the two freshmen. I think it is a sign of confidence that he (YOICHI) made a surprise attack at that time and announced his challenge. I believe that he (YOICHI) experienced many hardships and troubles overseas and came back home having grown, but he (YOICHI) will lose that confidence in the Nippon Budokan title match.
Pep: Now you belong to a new faction called ALL REBELLION along with Kenoh, Alejandro and Cristobal. What are your goals for the rest of the year as a singles competitor and as a unit? What can fans expect from you as a unit?
Kaito: As a singles wrestler, my goal is to create a new kind of wrestling, removing the stereotypes of what a NOAH match should be like. As a unit, we all want to become Champions (in NOAH).
Pep: During UJPW All Together you participated in a match called by fans as “Future of Japan”, teaming with Shota Umino and Yuki Ueno to face Konosuke Takeshita, Yuya Uemura and Shun Skywalker. Takeshita, AEW and DDT fighter, mentioned that he wants to individually face everyone who participated in that match and surpass them. Do you have any interest in facing Takeshita? If so, what kind of combat do you think they would have?
Kaito: I am interested, but right now I am concentrating on the GHC match against YOICHI at the Nippon Budokan.
Pep: The participants of N-1 Victory 2024 will be announced shortly. This year you could return to the tournament after deciding not to participate last year and you could enter the tournament as the GHC Heavyweight Champion for the first time. What expectations do you have for the new edition of the tournament? Who would you like to face here?
Kaito: The heavyweight division has become very strong, and I believe that N-1 Victory 2024 will be the best tournament in Japan. But for now, I am concentrating on the next event at Nippon Budokan against YOICHI.
Pep: This year, NOAH is touring outside of Japan again and they already have dates announced for September in the United Kingdom and October in Germany. In the past, NOAH has participated in events in Peru, Chile, Brazil and Mexico. What expectations do you have for these tours? What’s in store for fans attending? Is there any other country or continent you would like to visit?
Kaito: I believe that I will be able to broaden my horizons by competing against wrestlers from around the world, and I will show the fans from around the world who will be participating in the event the best place to get excited about Kaito Kiyomiya and NOAH. I have never been to Mexico, so I would like to compete there.
Pep: We want to know a little more about Kaito Kiyomiya, the person. Could you tell us your hobbies? Could you tell us what a typical day in the life of Kaito Kiyomiya is like?
Kaito: My hobby is cigars. I like the relaxing space and the calm atmosphere of the restaurant.
I wake up in the morning and check the wrestling news. I watch matches. I train from 11:00 until before the evening. In the evening I watch movies, imagine matches, and do my hobbies.
Pep: Last year you faced Kazuchika Okada, an AEW wrestler who was then in NJPW during a rivalry that also took place in NOAH. The matters between you seem to be unfinished. Would you like to have a rematch against him if the opportunity presents itself? Do you think you learned anything in particular during this rivalry?
Kaito: Of course I want to wrestle again (with Okada). And I will definitely overtake him. I also keenly felt the difference in power in the ring. From his comments to his behavior, I felt that he is always thinking about the pro-wrestling world.
Pep: Now that NOAH and WWE have opened the door to collaborate with each other and we will have a match between Naomichi Marufuji and AJ Styles at DESTINATION 2024. Is there a wrestler from WWE or another international company that you haven’t faced yet that you would like to face and why would it be him?
Kaito: There are some wrestlers that I would like to compete against in overseas organizations. For now, it is important for us to create a revolution in NOAH as ALL REBELLION, and we will make sure that our enthusiasm reaches overseas!
Pep: Do you have any message to your fans in Latin America and Spain, countries where Spanish is spoken, who follow your work and support you, despite the distance and the language barrier?
Kaito: Thank you for always looking forward to my matches. I will continue to defend the GHC heavyweight belt, increase its value, and show matches that will make fans proud that I am the best in the world! I will make NOAH even bigger so that we can hold matches in Spain! When we do, please feel the heat of NOAH at the live shows!
