Dream Star Fighting Marigold viene realizando su gira Grand Opening Wars 2024 luego del rotundo éxito de su primer show en Korakuen Hall el pasado 20 de mayo. La empresa liderada y fundada por Rossy Ogawa, y con Fuka como productora, ha armado un roster solido con talento consolidado y jovenes prospectos para la escena de lucha libre femenina.
Antes de Summer Destiny 2024, el primer show PPV de la compañía que se realizará el 13 de julio, Pep S. Caro tuvo la oportunidad de entrevistar a Kouki Amarei. Conocida como “The Amethyst Butterfly”, Kouki es una de las luchadoras más populares de la empresa. Ella respondió varias de las preguntas de Pep. Los temas fueron sobre el inicio de su carrera, su presente en Marigold, Utami Hayashishita, Giulia, Miku Aono, Natsumi Showzuki, su vida personal, su trabajo como actriz, objetivos y más.

Entrevista con Kouki Amarei (Marigold): Lo profesional y lo personal (Spanish & English)
Pep: El 13 de febrero cumpliste tu segundo aniversario como luchadora profesional ¿Podrías contarnos cuándo y por qué decidiste convertirte en luchadora profesional?
Kouki: Mi debut en la lucha libre fue el 20 de mayo de 2024.
Decidí convertirme en luchador profesional uniéndome a Marigold.
Después de haber estado involucrado con mi antigua compañía como actriz, quería llegar a un nivel superior, así que decidí convertirme en luchador profesional.
Pep: Tienes un estilo de lucha libre que combina fuerza y velocidad. ¿Por qué decidiste adoptar este estilo? ¿Tienes luchadores que consideres tus referencias para armar tu estilo y escoger los movimientos que utilizas en tu repertorio?
Kouki: Mi estilo actual me lo sugirieron una compañera con más experiencia en ese momento y Fuka-san. A menudo veo combates con luchadores altos y luchadores con cuerpos grandes como referencia.
Pep: En Actwres girl’Z solo tuviste una oportunidad para ser Campeona y fue en marzo de 2023 en un combate contra Miku Aono. ¿Cuáles fueron tus sensaciones en este primer combate por el Campeonato? ¿Qué aprendiste de este combate?
Kouki: Estuve tan cerca de ganar el cinturón que me sentí muy frustrada cuando vi a Miku-san con el cinturón en el brazo.
Creo que pelear por el cinturón en un combate individual contra Miku-san, quien tiene una larga carrera, fue una de las cosas que encendió mi pasión por la lucha libre profesional.
Pep: Hace unos meses, sorprendiste al mundo junto a tus compañeras de Actwres girl’Z cuando aparecieron junto a Fuka en el final de la conferencia de prensa de Marigold. ¿Qué expectativas tienes para esta nueva etapa de tu carrera y qué podemos esperar de la Kouki Amarei de Marigold?
Kouki: Al elegir un nuevo camino, cada día es refrescante y puedo probar muchas cosas, por lo que es muy satisfactorio.
¡Estoy entusiasmada con todo lo que hay dentro de mí en este momento, desde ganar un cinturón hasta pelear contra nuevos luchadores y pelear con mis compañeros y juniors!
Pep: En Actwres girl’Z formaste parte de The Royal, una facción muy popular entre los fanáticos de la lucha libre femenina, y has competido en la mayor parte de tu carrera en combates por equipos. ¿Te consideras más una luchadora de equipos o quieres impulsar tu carrera como luchadora individual?
Kouki: Por supuesto que me gusta tener luchas en parejas y como lo hago en ese tipo de combate, pero más que eso, quiero ser más fuerte como individuo. Quiero ser fuerte como luchadora individual.
Pep: Giulia, actualmente lesionada, fue considerada por fanáticos como la luchadora que tendría el rol de ACE. Hay otras luchadoras como Utami Hayashishita, MIRAI y Miku Aono que han indicado su intención de serlo ¿Consideras que tú podrías asumir ese rol y que estás dispuesta a hacer para conseguirlo teniendo esas rivales posibles? ¿Tienes expectativas de tener un combate con Giulia y qué clase de combate crees que les espera a los fans si eso llegase a ocurrir?
Kouki: Incluso en Actwres, se esperaba que yo fuera la próxima candidata a Ace, así que hay muchas personas a las que tengo que superar, pero tampoco creo que sea imposible convertirme en un Ace en Marigold.
Primero que nada, quiero conseguir el cinturón en Parejas.
Por supuesto, quiero luchar contra Giulia.
Creo que hay comunicación que sólo se puede realizar y transmitir en el ring, así que espero con ansias el día en que ella regrese y luchemos entre nosotros.
¿No sería realmente emocionante un partido por el campeonato individual entre Giulia y Kouki Amarei?
Pep: En los primeros shows de Marigold, has estado enfrentando a Nao Ishikawa y a Natsumi Showzuki en combates por equipos. A la primera ya la enfrentaste y venciste, pero aún no has tenido un combate individual con Showzuki y ella fue líder de The Royal. ¿Qué clase de combate crees que les espera a los fans si se enfrentan?
Kouki: Ella es una luchadora mayor que yo y que me ha enseñado muchas cosas, así que no puedo perder y definitivamente no quiero perder.
Creo que será un combate donde chocarán nuestro orgullo y nuestros sentimientos.
Pep: Chika Goto también fue tu compañera en la facción y han sido equipo por más de un año. Sin embargo, en Marigold tuvieron su primer enfrentamiento en equipos opuestos. ¿Tienes interés en una posible rivalidad con Goto o prefieres tenerla como compañera? ¿Qué crees que les espera a los fanáticos en alguno de estos escenarios?
Kouki: Siempre he sido consciente de ella como una compañera y, por supuesto, como una rival.
Ahora quiero hacer equipo con Chika y aspirar a los cinturones.
Pep: Conversamos con Utami Hayashishita hace un par de semanas y nos contó que tiene interés en formar un posible equipo contigo. ¿Ves a Hayashishita como una posible compañera o preferirías enfrentarla y tenerla como rival? ¿Qué crees que les espera a los fanáticos en alguno de estos escenarios?
Kouki: Utami-san es una luchadora que solía ver mucho antes de unirme a Marigold, así que me gustaría intentar hacer equipo con ella nuevamente.
Pero como he visto sus combates, también es una de las luchadoras que quiero superar.
Pep: Marigold ya presentó su Campeonatos Singles y sabemos que también habrá Campeonatos Tag Team. ¿Tienes interés en competir por un Campeonato Singles o Tag Team? En caso de Tag Team, ¿quién del roster actual de Marigold escogerías como compañera?
Kouki: En primer lugar, quiero aspirar a los cinturones con Chika.
Quiero ver hasta dónde podemos llegar y cuánto podemos crecer gracias a que hemos estado trabajando juntas durante tanto tiempo.
Pep: Aún no has competido fuera de Japón y muchas luchadoras han comentado que es una experiencia que expande tus horizontes y te permite crecer como competidora. ¿Tienes interés en competir en algún país en particular por ejemplo de América o Europa? ¿Quieres que Marigold realice algún show en el extranjero?
Kouki: Mi objetivo ahora mismo es ir a Estados Unidos.
Pep: Queríamos saber si tienes algún hobby o cosas que te gusten además de la lucha libre y como pasas tu tiempo libre. ¿Podrías contarnos cómo es un día normal en la vida de Kouki Amarei y si hay algo que consideres que es importante que tus fans conozcan sobre ti?
Kouki: Voy al gimnasio en mis días libres y recientemente me he vuelto adicta a la narguila.
Pep: Sabemos que también tienes trabajas en el entretenimiento y compaginas tu carrera de luchadora con tu carrera actoral. ¿Cuáles son los retos que te encuentras en compaginar ambos trabajos? ¿Qué consideras que aprendiste en tu carrera actoral que sirva a tu carrera en la lucha libre y viceversa?
Kouki: Creo que la parte más difícil es equilibrar nuestros horarios.
Creo que tenemos mucho en común en términos de lucirnos, así que creo que mi experiencia como actriz me convertirá en una luchadora única.
Pep: Ahora que Marigold ha anunciado el combate entre Utami Hayashishita & Iyo Sky de WWE sabemos que todo es posible. Si pudieras traer a cualquier luchadora del mundo a competir en un ring de Marigold que no hayas enfrentado todavía, ¿a quién escogerías y por qué? ¿Tienes algún tipo de estipulación especial que te gustaría para el combate?
Kouki: No sé mucho sobre lucha todavía, así que no tengo a nadie en mente, pero me gustaría pelear con más luchadores extranjeros que sean más grandes que yo.
Pep: Como mencioné anteriormente, en AWG formaste parte de una facción, The Royal. ¿Tienes intención de crear una nueva facción o de formar parte de una posible nueva facción en Marigold? Si pudieras hacerlo, ¿quién consideras del roster actual que podría ser tu primera elección de compañera?
Kouki: En este momento quiero formar equipo con diferentes personas y luchar contra diferentes personas, pero creo que sería interesante formar una facción algún día.
Creo que Chika (Goto) es mi primera opción en este momento. Mi primera opción para formar equipo es Utami (Hayashishita).
Pep: El 2024 ha sido de cerrar capítulos e iniciar nuevas aventuras para ti. ¿Podrías contarnos cuáles son tus objetivos para la segunda mitad del año y cómo planeas conseguirlos?
Kouki: Mi primer objetivo es ganar los cinturones en parejas.
Para lograrlo, quiero mejorar mi fuerza individual, por supuesto, pero también mi fuerza como equipo.
Pep: ¿Tienes algún mensaje para tus fanáticos de Latinoamérica y de España, países en los que se habla español, que siguen tu trabajo y que, a pesar de la distancia y de la barrera del idioma, están felices por ti y quieren verte seguir creciendo como luchadora y como persona.
Kouki: Desde que comencé a involucrarme en la lucha libre profesional, he recibido muchos mensajes de fanáticos en el extranjero.
Me hace darme cuenta de que la lucha libre profesional es una forma mundial de entretenimiento que trasciende el idioma.
¡En este momento sólo estoy luchando en Japón, pero con el tiempo me gustaría luchar en el extranjero y conocer fans de todo el mundo!

Pep: On February 13 you celebrated your second anniversary as a professional wrestler. Could you tell us when and why you decided to become a professional wrestler?
Kouki: My wrestling debut was on May 20, 2024.
I decided to become a professional wrestler by joining Marigold.
Having been involved with my former company as an actor, I wanted to go to a higher stage, so I decided to become a professional wrestler.
Pep: You have a wrestling style that combines strength and speed. Why did you decide to adopt this style? Do you have wrestlers that you consider your references to build your style and choose the movements you use in your repertoire?
Kouki: My current style was suggested to me by my senior at the time and Fuka-san. I often watch matches with tall wrestlers and wrestlers with big bodies for reference.
Pep: In Actwres girl’Z you only had one opportunity to be Champion and it was in March 2023 in a match against Miku Aono. What were your feelings in this first Championship match? What did you learn from this match?
Kouki: I was so close to winning the belt that I felt very frustrated at that moment, when I saw Miku-san with the belt on her arm.
I think that fighting for the belt in a single match against Miku-san, who has a long career, was one of the things that ignited my passion for professional wrestling.
Pep: A few months ago, you surprised the world with your fellow Actwres girl’Z when you all appeared alongside Fuka at the end of the Marigold press conference. What expectations do you have for this new stage of your career and what can we expect from Marigold’s Kouki Amarei?
Kouki: By choosing a new path, every day is fresh and I can try many things, so it’s very fulfilling.
I’m excited with everything inside of me at this very moment, from winning a belt to fighting new wrestlers, to fighting with my peers and juniors!
Pep: In Actwres girl’Z you were part of The Royal, a very popular faction among women’s wrestling fans, and you have competed in tag team matches for most of your career. Do you consider yourself more of a tag team wrestler or do you want to advance your career as an individual wrestler?
Kouki: Of course I like myself in tag matches, but more than that, I want to become stronger as an individual. I want to be strong as a singles wrestler.
Pep: Giulia, currently injured, was considered by fans as the wrestler who would have the role of Ace. There are other wrestlers such as Utami Hayashishita, MIRAI and Miku Aono who have indicated their intention to be the Ace. Do you think that you could assume that role and what are you willing to do to achieve it having those possible rivals? Do you have any expectations of having a match with Giulia and what kind of match do you think fans are in for if that were to happen?
Kouki: Even in Actwres, I was expected to be the next Ace candidate, so there are many people I have to overcome, but I don’t think it’s impossible to become an Ace in Marigold either.
First of all, I want to get the tag belt.
Of course, I want to wrestle Giulia.
I think there is communication that can only be done in the ring, so I’m looking forward to the day she returns and we wrestle each other.
Wouldn’t a singles Championship match between Giulia and Kouki Amarei be really exciting?
Pep: In the first few Marigold shows, you have been facing Nao Ishikawa and Natsumi Showzuki in tag team matches. You already faced and defeated Ishikawa, but you still haven’t had an individual match with Showzuki and she was the leader of The Royal. What kind of match do you think fans are in for if you two face each other?
Kouki: She’s a senior who has taught me many things, so I can’t lose and I definitely don’t want to lose.
I think it will be a match where our pride and feelings clash.
Pep: Chika Goto was also your partner in the faction and you both have been a team for over a year. However, in Marigold you had your first against each other in tag team action. Are you interested in a possible rivalry with Goto or do you prefer to have her as a partner? What do you think awaits fans in any of these scenarios?
Kouki: I’ve always been conscious of her as a tag partner, and of course as a rival.
Now I want to team up with Chika (Goto) and aim for the belts.
Pep: We spoke with Utami Hayashishita a couple of weeks ago and she told us that she is interested in forming a possible team with you. Do you see Hayashishita as a possible partner or would you prefer to face her and have her as a rival? What do you think awaits fans in any of these scenarios?
Kouki: Utami-san is a wrestler I used to watch a lot before I joined Marigold, so I’d like to try tagging with her again.
But because I’ve watched her, she’s also one of the wrestlers I want to surpass.
Pep: Marigold has already presented its Singles Championships and we know that there will also be Tag Team Championships. Are you interested in competing for a Singles or Tag Team Championship? In the case of Tag Team, who from Marigold’s current roster would you choose as your partner?
Kouki: First of all, I want to aim for the tag belts with Chika.
I want to see how far we can go and how much we can grow as we’ve been working together for so long.
Pep: You have not yet competed outside of Japan and many wrestlers have commented that it is an experience that expands your horizons and allows you to grow as a competitor. Do you have interest in competing in a particular country, for example somewhere in America or Europe? Do you want Marigold to perform a show abroad?
Kouki: My goal right now is to go to America.
Pep: We wanted to know if you have any hobbies or things you like besides wrestling and how you spend your free time. Could you tell us what a typical day in the life of Kouki Amarei is like and if there is anything you think is important for your fans to know about you?
Kouki: I go to the gym on my days off, and I’ve recently become addicted to hookah.
Pep: We know that you also work in entertainment and combine your wrestling career with your acting career. What are the challenges you face in combining both jobs? What do you think you learned in your acting career that will serve your career in wrestling and vice versa?
Kouki: I think the hardest part is balancing our schedules.
I think we have a lot in common in terms of showing ourselves off, so I think my experience as an actor will make me a unique wrestler.
Pep: Now that Marigold has announced the match between Utami Hayashishita & Iyo Sky (from WWE) we know that everything is possible. If you could bring any wrestler in the world to compete in a Marigold ring that you haven’t faced yet, who would you choose and why? Do you have any kind of special stipulations you would like for the match?
Kouki: I don’t know much about wrestling yet, so I don’t have anyone in mind, but I would like to fight more overseas wrestlers who are bigger than me.
Pep: As I mentioned before, in AWG you were part of a faction, The Royal. Do you intend to create a new faction or be part of a possible new faction in Marigold? If you could do it, who do you consider from the current roster that could be your first choice for a partner?
Kouki: Right now I want to team up with different people and fight different people, but I think it would be interesting to form a unit someday.
I think Chika (Goto) is my first choice at the moment. My first choice to team up with is Utami (Hayashishita).
Pep: 2024 has been about closing chapters and starting new adventures for you. Could you tell us what your goals are for the second half of the year and how you plan to achieve them?
Kouki: My first goal is to win the tag (team) belts.
To achieve that, I want to improve my individual strength, of course, but also my tag strength.
Pep: Do you have any message to your fans in Latin America and Spain, countries where Spanish is spoken, who follow your work and who, despite the distance and the language barrier, are happy for you and they want to see you continue growing as a wrestler and as a person?
Kouki: Since I started getting involved in professional wrestling, I’ve been receiving a lot of messages from fans overseas.
It makes me realize that professional wrestling is a worldwide form of entertainment that transcends language.
Right now I’m only wrestling in Japan, but eventually I’d like to wrestle overseas and meet fans all over the world!
