Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling realizará TJPW Live in Las Vegas el 18 de abril en Estados Unidos. El evento estelar del evento será un combate por el Princess of Princess Championship en el que Mizuki defenderá su cinturón ante Miyu Yamashita. También en el evento, Shoko Nakajima y Hyper Misao (Kyomei) defenderán los Princess Tag Team Championships contra Yuki Kamifuku y Wakana Uehara (Ober Eats). Pep S. Caro tuvo la oportunidad de entrevistar a Shoko Nakajima antes de este importante show. Shoko quien respondió varias de las preguntas de Pep. Entrevista con Shoko Nakajima (TJPW y MLW): Lo profesional y lo personal (Spanish & English)
Pep: El año pasado celebraste tu 11.º aniversario como luchadora profesional. ¿Podrías contarnos cuándo y por qué decidiste convertirte en luchadora profesional? ¿Qué te motiva actualmente a seguir compitiendo al máximo nivel? ¿Qué significa TJPW para ti y para tu vida?
Shoko: Decidí convertirme en luchadora profesional cuando tenía unos 20 años, cuando vi mi primer combate en vivo. Me interesaba la lucha libre profesional porque sentía admiración y entusiasmo por ella. Pero no fue hasta que encontré un lugar llamado Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling (TJPW) que empecé a moverme. Gracias a TJPW estoy donde estoy hoy, y siento que he crecido junto con esta organización.
Mi motivación es… la curiosidad de poder hacer algo más interesante. Cada combate me impulsa a sacar a relucir una nueva faceta de mí. Las compañeras y los fans que responden a eso también son muy importantes.
Pep: En Grand Princess ’25, ganaste el Princess Tag Team Championship con Hyper Misao. ¿Cómo te sentiste durante el combate? ¿Qué significa esta victoria para ti?
Shoko: El equipo con Hyper Misao es un equilibrio perfecto entre confianza y caos (risas). Durante el combate, siempre pensaba: “Este podría ser mi último momento”, así que me concentraba en cada ataque y defensa.
Me alegré mucho cuando ganamos. No fue solo una victoria, sino algo que pensé que “solo ellas dos podían lograr”, y sentí que fue muy significativo que condujera al resultado.
Pep: En abril participarás en la gira estadounidense de TJPW. ¿Qué tipo de combate quieres tener? ¿Cuáles son tus expectativas para esta gira? ¿Tienes algún plan turístico o algo que quieras ver o hacer en Las Vegas? ¿Cómo te sentiste en tu debut en MLW?
Shoko: En la gira estadounidense, quiero mostrar los colores de TJPW. Me encantaría que el público sintiera que el espectáculo no se trata solo de movimientos llamativos y grandes trucos, sino también de la sensación natural de “¡algo interesante!”.
En Las Vegas… es un cliché, pero me gustaría ver los casinos (risas). También me gusta ir a los supermercados locales y buscar dulces y otros productos que no se encuentran en Japón.
En MLW, competía con un color diferente, así que estaba nerviosa, pero con ganas. Quería probar mi aspecto y potencial en un campo diferente y ver hasta dónde podía llegar. ¡Y mira! ¡Gané el combate y conseguí el cinturón!
Pep: ¿Podrías contarnos sobre tus aficiones y las cosas que te gusta hacer fuera de la lucha libre? ¿Podrías contarnos cómo es un día típico en la vida de Shoko Nakajima?
Shoko: Mis aficiones incluyen ver películas y anime, y jugar videojuegos. Pasar tiempo con mi mascota, Degu, también es terapéutico.
Normalmente me levanto un poco más tarde por la mañana y tomo café. Entreno y practico, y cuando llego a casa, me gusta jugar con Degu y ver videos en YouTube… Me gusta pasar el tiempo bastante tranquilo.
Pep: Si pudieras traer a cualquier luchadora del mundo para competir contra ti en un combate en el ring de TJPW, ¿a quién elegirías y qué estipulación elegirías? ¿Por qué a él o a ella?
Shoko: Me gustaría pelear con una luchadora que me ha interesado desde que la vi en la Arena México. Por ejemplo, Stephanie Vaquer. Me gustaría tener una lucha de 2 de 3 caídas, estilo lucha libre, donde nos enfrentemos en técnica y velocidad.
En Estados Unidos, me gustaría pelear con alguien como Willow Nightingale.
Pep: TJPW debutó recientemente en Latinoamérica con algunos combates en Chile. Para finalizar esta entrevista, ¿tienes algún mensaje para tus fans en Latinoamérica y España?
Shoko: ¡Hola a todos! Gracias por apoyarme desde tan lejos. Sé que hay barreras de idioma y distancia, pero su energía llega hasta aquí. Pep: Last year you celebrated your 11th anniversary as a professional wrestler. Could you tell us when and why you decided to become a professional wrestler? What currently motivates you to continue competing at the highest level? What does TJPW mean to you and your life?
Shoko: I decided to become a professional wrestler when I was about 20 years old, when I watched my first match. I was interested in pro wrestling because I had some admiration and excitement for it. But it wasn’t until I found a place called TJPW that I actually started moving. It is thanks to TJPW that I am where I am today, and I feel that I have grown together with this organization.
My motivation is… curiosity that I can do something more interesting. Each game makes me want to bring out a new part of myself. The colleagues and fans who respond to that are also very important.
Pep: At Grand Princess ’25, you won the Princess Tag Team Championship with Hyper Misao. How did you felt during the game? What does this victory means to you?
Shoko: The tag team with Hyper Misao is a perfect balance of trust and chaos (laughs). During the match, I was always thinking, “This moment may be my last,” so I concentrated on each attack and defense.
I was really happy at the moment we won. It was not just a victory, but something that I thought “only these two could do,” and I felt it was very meaningful that it led to the result.
Pep: In April you will be participating in TJPW’s US tour. What a kind of game do you want to have? What are your expectations for this tour? Do you have any touristic plans or things you want to see or do in Las Vegas? Also, for your game in MLW?
Shoko: In the U.S. tour, I want to show TJPW’s colors. I would be happy if the audience feels that the show is not just about flashy moves and big tricks, but also about the natural feeling of “something interesting!”.
In Las Vegas… it’s a cliché, but I would like to see the casinos (laughs). I also like to go to local supermarkets and look for sweets and other goods that are not available in Japan.
In MLW, I was competing in a different color, so I wasnervous but looking forward to it. I wanted to try out how I look in a different field and see how far I could go. And look? I won the match and got the belt!
Pep: Could you tell us about your hobbies and the things you like to do outside of wrestling? Could you tell us what a typical day in the life of Shoko Nakajima is like?
Shoko: My hobbies include watching movies and anime, and playing video games. Spending time with my pet Degu is also therapeutic.
I usually wake up a little later in the morning and drink coffee. I have training and practice, and when I get home, I like to play with degu and watch YouTube… I like to spend time rather quietly.
Pep: If you could bring any wrestler in the world to compete against you in a match in a TJPW ring, who would you choose and what stipulation (rules) would you choose? Why him or her? And why this stipulation (rules)?
Shoko: I would like to fight a luchadora player that I have been interested in since I saw her in Arena Mexico. For example, Stephanie Vaquer. I would like to have a 2 out of 3 falls fight lucha libre style match where we clash in terms of technique and speed.
In the U.S., I would like to fight someone like Willow Nightingale.
Pep: TJPW recently made their debut in Latin America with some games in Chile. To end this interview we wanted to ask you to send a greeting or message to your fans in Latin America and Spain, countries where Spanish is spoken, who follow your work and who, despite the distance and the language barrier, are happy for you and want to see you continue to grow as a wrestler and as a person.
