Dream Star Fighting Marigold viene realizando su gira Grand Opening Wars 2024 luego del rotundo éxito de su primer show en Korakuen Hall el pasado 20 de mayo. La empresa liderada y fundada por Rossy Ogawa, y con Fuka como productora, ha armado un roster solido con talento consolidado y jovenes prospectos para la escena de lucha libre femenina.
Antes de Summer Destiny 2024, el primer show PPV de la compañía que se realizará el 13 de julio, Pep S. Caro tuvo la oportunidad de entrevistar a Utami Hayashishita. Conocida como “Red Queen”, Utami es considerada una de las mejores luchadores en el mundo a pesar de su juventud. Ella respondió varias de las preguntas de Pep. Los temas fueron sobre el inicio de su carrera, la separación de Queen’s Quest, su presente en Marigold, su combate de ensueño con Iyo Sky (FKA Io Shirai), Giulia, Miku Aono, su vida personal, objetivos y más.
Nos gustaría destacar que esta es la primera entrevista que Utami realiza para un medio informativo en español y sin haber competido en un país en el que se hable ese idioma todavía. Además, son sus primeras declaraciones luego del anuncio de su combate con Iyo, un sueño que ella tenía desde antes de convertirse en luchadora profesional.

Entrevista con Utami Hayashishita: Lo profesional y lo personal
Pep: En agosto cumplirás tu sexto aniversario como luchadora profesional. ¿Podrías contarnos cuándo y por qué decidiste convertirte en luchadora profesional?
Utami: Al principio no tenía mucha confianza en mí misma. Fue entonces cuando me encontré con la lucha libre profesional.
Quería convertirme en una luchadora profesional porque admiraba a los atletas que brillan en el ring. Los había admirado desde que estaba en la escuela secundaria, pero tengo una familia numerosa, por lo que los problemas financieros fueron difíciles y fue difícil comenzar. Debuté en 2018, pero ahora desearía haber debutado antes.
Pep: Tu rivalidad con Syuri fue una de las más importantes de la lucha libre femenina en los últimos años. ¿Consideras que Syuri ha sido tu más grande rival a la fecha y que aprendiste de todos esos combates individuales que tuvieron entre el 2021 y 2022?
Utami: Mis combates con Syuri fueron vistos no sólo por gente en Japón sino también por mucha gente en el extranjero. Fue una serie de combates muy populares y son recuerdos muy importantes para mí.
Syuri es una gran presencia que eliminó mi limitador y ella es mi rival. Pelear con ella me hizo darme cuenta de que aún podía evolucionar aún más.
Pep: Uno de los momentos emotivos del 2023 fue tu despedida de Queen’s Quest y de Stardom. ¿Estás al tanto de la situación actual de la facción (como el interés de que Momo Watanabe regrese) y mantienes comunicación con Saya Kamitani y con AZM?
Utami: Todavía me comunico con Saya Kamitani y AZM. Pero ahora estamos en equipos diferentes, por así decirlo. Entonces estoy mirando desde lejos. No importa cuál sea el resultado, yo quiero que todos vivan una vida feliz.
Pep: Impactaste al mundo de la lucha libre uniendote a Marigold, compañía de Rossy Ogawa. ¿Qué expectativas tienes para esta nueva etapa de tu carrera y qué podemos esperar de la Utami Hayashishita de Marigold?
Utami: Espero con ansias mis nuevas posibilidades aquí. Espero que los fans que me apoyan también estén ansiosos por ver a Utami Hayashishita como nunca antes la habían visto. Como As de la nueva organización Marigold, puedo mostrarles a todos muchos sueños.
Pep: Pudiste participar de la lucha especial entre Marigold y el Team NOAH femenino en la cual enfrentaste a rivales de otras empresas con las que no habías competido antes. ¿Cómo fue tu experiencia en tu debut con NOAH y la sensación de representar a Marigold por primera vez?
Utami: Tenía muchas ganas de enfrentarme a personas a las que nunca antes me había enfrentado. Esta fue la primera vez que competí en NOAH. Me alegro cuando la gente que nunca antes había visto a Utami Hayashishita puede verla, y fue una inspiración para mí. ¡Quiero enfrentarme a muchas personas diferentes en el futuro!

Pep: En los shows más recientes de Marigold, has estado enfrentando a Miku Aono en combates por equipos. Los fanáticos enloquecieron con sus primeras interacciones. ¿Estás interesada en enfrentarla en un combate individual en Summer Destiny 2024 o luego este año? ¿Qué clase de combate crees que les espera a los fans si eso llegase a ocurrir?
Utami: ¡¡Los partidos con Miku Aono son muy divertidos!! Tiene una cara muy linda, pero sus combates son intensos y llenos de espíritu de lucha. Me encantaría tener un combate individual con ella algún día. Seguramente verían algunas batallas intensas.
Pep: Reemplazaste a Giulia en el Hana Kimura Memorial Show y por fin pudiste enfrentarte a VENY. ¿Cuáles son tus impresiones luego de haber tenido el combate y en un show tan especial? ¿Te gustaría tener a VENY como un talento que participe de forma constante en Marigold?
Utami: ¿Por qué no reclutar a VENY como talento habitual para Marigold? Quería tener un combate individual con VENY desde hace bastante tiempo, ¡así que me alegro de haber podido tener un combate de esta manera! Siempre quise participar en el espectáculo conmemorativo de Hana Kimura. Los combates con VENY son especiales y limitados, lo que los hace aún más atractivos. Algún día otra vez…
Pep: Giulia actualmente se está recuperando de una lesión en la muñeca. Un combate entre ustedes es el deseo de los fans de todo el mundo. Luego de que se enfrente a Sareee, ¿tienes intención de ser su próxima rival? ¿Qué clase de combate crees que les espera a los fans si eso llegase a ocurrir?
Utami: Me encantaría tener algún día un combate individual con Giulia, con algo importante en juego, en un recinto grande. Todos los fans llevan mucho tiempo esperándolo y, por supuesto, yo también. Quizás ese momento llegue algún día, o quizás no.
Pero tanto Giulia como yo queremos pelear entre nosotras, así que creo que algún día llegará el momento. Mantendré esta pasión por ese combate.
Pep: WWE tiene una gira en Japón para el verano y ahora sabemos que acordaron dejar que Iyo Sky (FKA Io Shirai) compita contra ti en Marigold en Summer Destiny 2024. Finalmente obtendrás tu Dream Match con Iyo en julio. ¿Qué piensas ahora que este combate finalmente se llevará a cabo? ¿Qué tipo de combate crees que les espera a los fanáticos cuando eso suceda?
Utami: ¡Tengo un combate con Iyo! Este ha sido un gran sueño para mí. Quizás sea demasiado pronto para hacer realidad este sueño. Pero no puedo contener mi emoción. Quiero causar una gran impresión en la vida de Iyo. Espero que todos estén esperando con ansias este combate, que será visto por todo el mundo.
Pep: Tu has competido en el extranjero anteriormente. En 2019 en Europa y en 2019 y en 2023 en Estados Unidos. ¿Tienes interés en volver a competir en alguno de estos países o en otro en el que aún no has estado? ¿Quieres que Marigold realice algún show en el extranjero?
Utami: Me encantaría volver a competir en el extranjero. Podría ser un espectáculo con todo Marigold o un viaje personal. He luchado en Estados Unidos e Inglaterra. Me encantaría luchar en Asia a continuación. Me gustaría volver a Estados Unidos e Inglaterra. ¡Quiero que la gente que no sabe sobre Utami Hayashishita la conozca!
Pep: Queríamos saber si tienes algún hobby o cosas que te gusten además de la lucha libre. ¿Podrías contarnos cómo es un día normal en la vida de Utami Hayashishita y si hay algo que consideres que es importante que tus fans conozcan sobre ti?
Utami: ¿Cómo paso mis días libres? Solo duermo. Jajaja. Duermo todo el día, especialmente el día siguiente de un combate.
Mi hobby es cocinar. Es simple, pero cuando tengo tiempo, preparo la comida. Veo combates de lucha libre mientras como y luego duermo hasta quedar satisfecha.
Soy como una niña en mi vida privada. Por favor, no me odies por no ser la genial Utami Hayashishita todo el tiempo…
Pep: Anteriormente comentaste que tienes interés en enfrentarte a Iyo Sky, VENY y Rina Yamashita. Uno de estos combates ya se realizó. Si pudieras traer a cualquier luchadora del mundo a competir en un ring de Marigold, que no sea ninguna de las mencionadas, ¿a quién escogerías y por qué? ¿Tienes algún tipo de estipulación especial que te gustaría para el combate?
Utami: Uno de estos combates ya ocurrió (VENY). Además de las luchadoras mencionadas, si pudiera traer a alguna luchadora de todo el mundo al ring en Marigold… Hay muchas personas con las que me gustaría tener un combate, pero la que inmediatamente me viene a la mente es Jungle Kyona.
No es fácil explicar mi relación con ella. Pero si vuelve al ring otra vez, me gustaría ser su oponente. Y sobre todo prefiero las reglas regulares. ¡Pero tengo curiosidad por si implementamos reglas especiales!
Pep: La mayor parte de tu carrera has trabajado como parte de un equipo o facción (Queen’s Quest y AphrOditE), ¿tienes intención de crear una nueva facción en Marigold y si pudieras hacerlo quien consideras del roster actual que podría ser tu primera elección de compañera?
Utami: Todavía no estoy pensando en crear una facción. Sin embargo, creo que Kouki (Amarei) sería una buena compañera de equipo a mi lado. Ella es genial y hermosa. Creo que nos convertiremos en un gran equipo.
Pep: El 2024 ha sido de cerrar capítulos e iniciar nuevas aventuras para ti. ¿Podrías contarnos cuáles son tus objetivos para la segunda mitad del año y cómo planeas cumplirlos?
Utami: Mis objetivos para los seis meses restantes… Creo que necesito ser yo quien lidere a Marigold. Para ello quiero lograr resultados positvos en los combates, ganarlos. Haré que la presencia de Utami Hayashishita sea más grande.
Pep: Esto no es una pregunta pero queríamos pedirte que le envíes un saludo a tus fanáticos de Latinoamérica y de España, países en los que se habla español, que siguen tu trabajo y que, a pesar de la distancia y de la barrera del idioma, están felices por ti y quieren verte seguir creciendo como luchadora y como persona.
Utami: Gracias por su continuo apoyo. Utami Hayashishita recibe mucho amor de todos los que la apoyan. Quiero retribuir a todos, pero no existe una manera fácil de hacerlo.

Pep: In august you will celebrate your sixth anniversary as a professional wrestler. Could you tell us when and why you decided to become a professional wrestler?
Utami: Originally, I wasn’t very confident in myself. That’s when I encountered professional wrestling.
I wanted to become a professional wrestler because I admired athletes who shine in the ring. I had admired them since I was in junior high school, but I have a large family, so financial issues were difficult and it was hard to start. I debuted in 2018, but now I wish I could have debuted earlier.
Pep: Your rivalry with Syuri was one of the most important in women’s wrestling in recent years. Do you consider that Syuri has been your greatest rival to date and what did you learn from all those individual matches you had between 2021 and 2022?
Utami: My matches with Syuri were watched not only by people in Japan but also by many people overseas. It was a very popular series of matches, and very big memories for me.
Syuri is a big presence who removed my limiter, and she is my rival. Fighting her made me realize that I could still evolve even more.
Pep: One of the emotional moments of 2023 was your farewell to Queen’s Quest and Stardom. Are you aware of the faction’s current situation (such as interest in Momo Watanabe returning) and are you in communication with Saya Kamitani and AZM?
Utami: I still communicate with Saya Kamitani and AZM. But now we’re on different teams so to speak. So I’m watching from afar. No matter what the outcome is, I want everyone to live a happy life.
Pep: You impacted the wrestling world by joining Marigold, Rossy Ogawa’s company. What expectations do you have for this new stage of your career and what can we the fans expect from Marigold’s Utami Hayashishita?
Utami: I’m looking forward to my new possibilities. I hope that the fans who support me will also look forward to seeing Utami Hayashishita in a way they’ve never seen before. As the ace of the new organization Marigold, I can show everyone many dreams.
Pep: You were able to participate in the special match between Team Marigold and the female Team NOAH in which you faced rivals from other companies with whom you had not competed before. What was your experience like in your debut with NOAH and the feeling of representing Marigold for the first time?
Utami: I really wanted to face people I had never faced before. This was my first time competing in NOAH. I’m happy when people who have never seen Utami Hayashishita before can see her, and it was an inspiration for me. I want to face many different people in the future!
Pep: In Marigold Fields Forever, you teamed up with Giulia but both lost to Sareee and Bozilla’s team. The German made an immediate impact on her debut. Do you consider Bozilla to be the biggest threat to your intentions of winning the Marigold World Championship and do you have a plan to beat her?
Utami: I think Giulia and Utami Hayashishita are a great tag team. But we lost. This match showed me a lot of things that I’m lacking. I was disappointed that Bozilla was the standout. I still have a lot to learn to beat her.
Pep: In Marigold’s most recent shows, you’ve been facing Miku Aono in tag team matches. Fans had been going crazy about your interactions. Are you interested in facing her in a singles match at Summer Destiny 2024 or later this year? What kind of match do you think fans are in for if that were to happen?
Utami: Matches with Miku Aono are a lot of fun!! She has a really cute face, but her matches are intense and full of fighting spirit. I’d love to have a singles match with her someday. You would see some intense battles for sure.
Pep: You replaced Giulia at the Hana Kimura Memorial Show and were finally able to face VENY. What are your impressions after having had the match and at such special show? Would you like to have VENY as a talent that constantly participates in Marigold?
Utami: Why not recruit VENY as a regular talent for Marigold? I wanted to have a singles match with VENY for quite some time, so I’m glad I was able to have a match in this way! I’ve always wanted to participate in Hana Kimura’s memorial show. Matches with VENY are special and limited, so that makes them even more attractive. Someday again…
Pep: Giulia is currently recovering from a wrist injury. A match between you is the desire of fans around the world. After she faces Sareee, do you intend to be her next rival? What kind of match do you think fans are in for if that were to happen?
Utami: I’d be happy to have a singles match with Giulia someday, with something big at stake, at a big venue. All the fans have been looking forward to it for a long time, and of course I have too. Maybe that time will come someday, or maybe not.
But both Giulia and I want to fight each other, so I think that time will come someday. I’ll keep this passion for that match.
Pep: WWE has a tour in Japan for the summer and now we know that they agreed to let Iyo Sky (FKA Io Shirai) compete against you in Marigold for Summer Destiny 2024. You are finally getting your Dream Match with Iyo in july. What are your thoughts now that this match will finally happen? What kind of match do you think fans are in for?
Utami: I have a match with Iyo! This has been a big dream of mine. Maybe it’s too early to make this dream come true. But I can’t contain my excitement. I want to make a big impression on Iyo’s life. I hope everyone is looking forward to this match, which will be watched by the world.
Pep: You have competed abroad before. In 2019 in Europe and in 2019 and 2023 in the United States. Are you interested in competing again in one of these countries or in another where you have not yet been? Do you want Marigold to perform a show abroad?
Utami: I would love to compete overseas again. It could be a show with all of Marigold, or a personal trip. I’ve wrestled in America and England. I’d love to wrestle in Asia next. I’d like to go to America and England again. I want people who don’t know about Utami Hayashishita to know her!
Pep: How is a regular day in the life of Utami Hayashishita? We wanted to know if you have any hobbies or things you like besides wrestling. Could you tell us what a typical day in the life of Utami Hayashishita is like and if there is anything you think is important for your fans to know about you?
Utami: How I spend my days off…. I just sleep. Lol. I sleep all day, especially the day after a match.
My hobby is cooking. It’s simple, but when I have time, I meal prep. I watch wrestling matches while eating, and then sleep until I’m satisfied.
I’m like a child in my private life. Please don’t hate me for not being the cool Utami Hayashishita all the time…
Pep: You previously mentioned that you are interested in facing Iyo Sky, VENY and Rina Yamashita. One of these matches has already taken place. If you could bring any wrestler in the world to compete in a Marigold ring, other than any of those mentioned, who would you choose and why? Do you have any kind of special stipulations you would like for the match?
Utami: One of these matches has already taken place (VENY). Besides the wrestlers mentioned, if I could bring any wrestler from around the world into the ring at Marigold… There are many people I would like to have a match with, but the one that immediately comes to mind is Jungle Kyona.
It’s not easy to explain my relationship with her. But if she comes back to the ring again, I would like to be her opponent. And I mostly prefer regular rules. But I’m curious about special rules!
Pep: Most of your career you have worked as part of a team or faction (Queen’s Quest and AphrOditE), do you have any intention of creating a new faction/unit in Marigold and if you could do so, who do you consider from the current roster that could be your first choice of partner?
Utami: I’m not thinking about creating a unit yet. However, I think that Kouki (Amarei) would be a good teammate next to me. She is cool and beautiful. I think we will become a great tag team.
Pep: 2024 has been about closing chapters and starting new adventures for you. Could you tell us what your goals are for the second half of the year and how you plan to achieve them?
Utami: My goals for the remaining six months… I think I need to be the one to lead Marigold. To do that, I want to achieve winning results in matches. I will make Utami Hayashishita’s presence bigger.
Pep: This is not a question but we wanted to ask you to send a greeting to your fans from Latin America and Spain, countries where Spanish is spoken, who follow your work and who, despite the distance and the language barrier, are happy for you and they want to see you continue growing as a wrestler and as a person.
Utami: Thank you for your continued support. Utami Hayashishita receives a lot of love from everyone who supports her. I want to give back to everyone, but there is no easy way to do so.
I think the best way to repay everyone is to have the best matches. Please continue to receive love from Utami Hayashishita. Thank you very much!
