MARVELOUS Pro Wrestling está viviendo un gran momento actualmente en rivalidad con Marigold, con Takumi Iroha como Campeona AAAW luego de vencer a Meiko Satomura y de haber realizado un show exitoso en Las Vegas durante Wrestlemania Week 2025. Pep S. Caro tuvo la oportunidad de entrevistar a Maria, miembro del equipo Magenta. Maria quien respondió varias de las preguntas de Pep. Los temas fueron sobre por qué decidió convertirse en luchadora profesional, su vínculo con MARVELOUS, experiencia en SEAdLINNNG y en Sendai Girls, su primer enfrentamiento con Riko Kawahata, unirse a Riko y formar Magenta, la gira en Estados Unidos, representar a MARVELOUS en la batalla contra Marigold, su vida personal y mucho más.

Entrevista con Maria (MARVELOUS): Lo profesional y lo personal (Spanish & English)
Pep: A finales del año pasado, celebraste tu sexto aniversario como luchadora profesional. ¿Por qué decidiste convertirte en luchador profesional? ¿Qué te motiva ahora a competir al máximo nivel?
María: Empecé a apreciar mucho a Takumi Iroha-san cuando la vi pelear en vivo. Entonces quise compartircon ella en el ring.
Como miembro de MARVELOUS Pro Wrestling, quiero asegurarme de tener buenos conceptos básicos y técnicas.
Cuando pensaba en lo que quería ser en el futuro, realmente pensé que quería ser luchador profesional.
Hay mucha gente que me apoya ahora, así que quiero hacer lo mejor para mí y para todos los que me apoyan.
Pep: Debutaste en MARVELOUS, una organización que podría considerarse tu hogar. ¿Por qué decidiste unirte a MARVELOUS?
María: Quise unirme a MARVELOUSPro Wrestling porque Takumi Iroha estaba allí. Además, pensaba que MARVELOUS Pro Wrestling era la mejor organización porque los luchadores tenían excelentes bases, técnicas y eran geniales. MARVELOUS Pro Wrestling realmente me conmovió.
Pep: En 2019, empezaste a competir con más regularidad en ICE RIBBON y SEAdLINNNG. ¿Cómo describirías tu experiencia en ICE RIBBON y SEAdLINNNG?
María: Aprendí mucho sobre la diversión de la lucha libre profesional en Ice Ribbon.
Fui parte de la unidad“Las Ego (Las Fresa de Egoístas)” en SEAdLINNNG. Fue la primera vez que tuve la experiencia de formar parte de una unidad. Allí aprendí mucho sobre cómo luchar en equipo y lo bueno que es tener compañeros.
Pep: En 2022, te enfrentaste a Riko Kawahata por primera vez. ¿Qué recuerdos tienes de ese primer partido?
María: Mi primer combate individual contra Riko Kawahata fue cuando tenía 20 años, en 2022. Pesábamos y medíamos igual y empezamos a luchar profesionalmente al mismo tiempo. Así que estaba aún más decidida a no perder contra ella.
Pep: Más tarde ese año, empezaste a formar equipo con Riko Kawahata y te convertiste en Magenta, uno de los equipos más populares de la actualidad. ¿Cómo describirías tu relación con Riko? ¿Cuáles son sus objetivos como equipo?
María: Magenta es la unión de opuestos completos en cuanto a fortalezas y debilidades, por lo que nos complementamos en nuestras luchas, técnicas y vida diaria.
En el futuro queremos conseguir grandes logros y causar grandes impresiones.
Queremos que la gente diga que Magenta es el equipo de parejas más representativo de la lucha libre femenina profesional. Quiero volver a generar un gran auge en la lucha libre femenina con nosotras.
Pep: Magenta logró ganar los Campeonatos en Parejas de AAAW y los defendió con éxito en dos ocasiones. ¿Piensas recuperarlos? ¿O tienes otros títulos en mente?
María: El cinturón de AAAW fue el primero que ganamos, y creo que definitivamente debería seguir con nosotros, así que quiero recuperarlo primero. Después, me interesan los cinturones de varias organizaciones, así que quiero ganar combates en otros lugares y conseguirlos.
Pep: Desde finales de 2024, has competido con más regularidad en Sendai Girls. Incluso venciste a Manami en TOP OF JOSHI. Incluso te reencontraste con tu antigua conocida y medallista olímpica, Yui Susaki. ¿Cómo ha sido tu experiencia compitiendo en SENJO?
María: Cuando estaba en la preparatoria, pertenecía al club de lucha libre. Estaba allí como mánager, apoyando a los miembros del club. Estoy muy feliz de haber podido regresar a ese lugar como luchadora profesional, y creo que pude demostrar mi esfuerzo al encontrarme cara a caraconYui (Susaki) en el ring y ganar frente a mis compañeros mayores a los menoresy de mis maestros.
Siempre tengo muchas experiencias diferentes en SENJO, así que es un lugar que me hace crecer y aprender mucho.
Pep: Debutaste en Estados Unidos en 2023. Te vimos en West Coast y Kitsune. ¿Cómo fue competir allí? ¿Hiciste turismo durante esas giras?
María: Primero que nada, me sorprendió la diferencia de ambiente entre Estados Unidos y Japón. Al principio, me costó acostumbrarme al ambiente estadounidense, pero ahora disfruto pensando en cómo hacerlo más emocionante.
¡Me llevaron a lugares recomendados en diferentes partes de los lugares que visitamos cada vez!
Pep: En abril, MARVELOUS regresó a Estados Unidos y ofreció un concierto en Las Vegas. ¿Cómo se sintieron en esta gira?
María: También tuvimos al árbitro TOMMY, quien siempre nos ha sido de gran ayuda en Japón, y queríamos que todos en Estados Unidos vieran la clase de organización que es MARVELOUSPro Wrestling y lo genial que es. ¡Creo que lo logramos!
Pep: Si pudieras elegir a cualquier oponente del mundo al que aún no te hayas enfrentado, ¿a quién elegirías?
María: Quiero tener un combate contra Takumi Iroha-san porque nunca he tenido un combate individual con ella.
Pep: ¿Podrías contarnos sobre tus hobbies? ¿Cómo es un día típico en tu vida? Por ejemplo, un día en el que no compites.
María: Mis hobbies son dar masajes a la gente, dibujar ilustraciones y maquillar.
En mis días libres, a veces simplemente no hago nada en todo el día y simplemente me relajo.
O voy de compras y como mucho hasta sentirme llena.
Pep: MARVELOUS está actualmente en un feudo con Marigold. Tras el show del 10 de abril, Miku Aono anunció que tendrán un combate por equipos de 5 contra 5 en el evento de Marigold en el Korakuen Hall el 25 de abril. ¿Qué esperan de este combate?
María: Creo en mí misma y en todos los miembros de MARVELOUS.
Estoy seguro de que MARVELOUS Pro Wrestling es la mejor organización, como dije antes. Entonces solo puedo ver que MARVELOUS ganará contra Marigold. El orden de los combates, quién luchará contra quién, no importará.

Pep: At the end of last year, you celebrated your sixth anniversary as a professional wrestler. Why did you decided to become a Professional Wrestler? What motivates you now to compete at the highest level?
Maria: I really started liking Takumi Iroha-san when I saw that she was fighting on the ring live. Then I really wanted to be on the ring with her.
As a member of MARVELOUS Pro Wrestling, I want to make sure that I have good basics and techniques.
When I was thinking about what I wanted to be in the future, I really thought that I wanted to be a pro wrestler.
There are many people who support me now, so I want to do my best for myself and for everyone who supports me.
Pep: You debuted in MARVELOUS, an organization that can be considered your home. Why did you decide to join MARVELOUS?
Maria: The reason why I wanted to join Marvelous Pro Wrestling was because Takumi Iroha was there. Also, I thought that MARVELOUS Pro Wrestling was the best organization because the wrestlers had great basics, techniques and were cool. MARVELOUS Pro Wrestling really moved my heart.
Pep: In 2019, you started competing more regularly in ICE RIBBON and SEAdLINNNG. How would you describe your experience in ICE RIBBON and in SEAdLINNNG?
Maria: I learnt a lot about the fun of pro wrestling at Ice Ribbon.
I was the one of the units “Las Ego (Las Fresa de Egoistas)” at SEAdLINNNG. It was the first time to experience being part of a unit. There I learnt a lot about how to fight as a team and how good is to have partners.
Pep: In 2022, you faced Riko Kawahata for the first time. What memories do you have of that first match?
Maria: My first singles match against Riko Kawahata was when I was 20 years old in 2022. Our height and weight were the same and we started pro wrestling at the same time. So, I was even more determined not to lose against her.
Pep: Later that year, you began teaming up with Riko Kawahata and became Magenta, one of today’s most popular teams. How would you describe your relationship with Maria? What are your goals as a team?
Maria: Magenta is the union of complete opposites in terms of strengths and weaknesses, so we complement each other in our fights, techniques and daily life.
In the future, we want to achieve big accomplishment and impressions.
Then we want people to say that Magenta is the most representative tag team of women’s pro wrestling. I want to create a huge women’s wrestling boom once again with us.
Pep: Magenta managed to win the AAAW Tag Team Championships and had two successful defenses. Do you intend to regain the championships? Or do you have other titles in mind?
Maria: The AAAW belt was the first belt we won, and I think it should definitely be with us, so I want to win it back first. After that, I’m interested in belts of various organizations, so I want to win matches in other places and get those belts.
Pep: Since late 2024, you’ve been competing more regularly in Sendai Girls. You even defeated Manami at TOP OF JOSHI. You even met up with your old acquaintance and Olympic medalist, Yui Susaki. What has your experience been like competing in SENJO?
Maria: When I was in high school, I belonged to the wrestling club. I was there as a manager supporting the club members. I am very happy that I was able to come back to that venue as a professional wrestler, and I think that I was able to show my hard work by meeting Yui (Susaki) in the ring and winning in front of my juniors, seniors and teachers.
I always have a lot of experiences at SENJO, so it is a place that makes me grow and learn a lot.
Pep: You made your US debut in 2023. We’ve seen you at West Coast and Kitsune. What has it been like competing there? Did you do any sightseeing during those tours?
Maria: First of all, I was surprised at the difference in atmosphere between the USA and Japan. At first, I found it difficult to get used to the American atmosphere, but now I enjoy thinking about how to make it more exciting.
I was taken to places recommended in different parts of the places we visited each time!
Pep: In April, MARVELOUS returned to the United States and had a show in Las Vegas. How did you felt on this tour?
Maria: We also had referee TOMMY, who has always been a great help to us in Japan, and we wanted everyone in America to see what kind of organization MARVELOUS Pro Wrestling is and how great it is. I think we did it!
Pep: If you could bring any opponent in the world you haven’t faced yet, who would you choose?
Maria: I want to have a match against Takumi Iroha-san because I have never had a single match with her.
Pep: Could you tell us about your hobbies? What’s a typical day like in your life? For example, a day when you don’t have a match.
Maria: My hobbies are giving massages to people, drawing illustrations and doing makeup.
On my days off, I sometimes just do nothing all day and just relax.
Or I go shopping and eat a lot until I’m full.
Pep: Marvelous is currently feuding with Marigold. After the April 10th show, Miku Aono announced they’ll have a 5-on-5 tag team match at Marigold’s Korakuen Hall show on April 25th. What are your expectations for this match?
Maria: I believe in myself and all the MARVELOUS members.
I’m confident that MARVELOUS Pro Wrestling is the best organization like I said before. Then I can only see that MARVELOUS will win against Marigold. Orders for matches, who will wrestle with who won’t matter.
We will show the greatness of MARVELOUS Pro Wrestling to the world against Marigold at Korakuen Hall.
Pep: To conclude this interview, do you have any message for your fans around the world?
Maria: I wish I could speak English better. I’m frustrated that I must use a translation app to communicate or write messages. However, I believe that there is no language barrier in pro wrestling itself. There are fans who support me from overseas, and you guys are very important to me because you give me the power to do my best. Please keep your eyes on me from now on! Thank you for always supporting me! I love you!
